Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is used for therapy and rehabilitation, not relaxation. Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Traditional or Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. To really enhance this massage ask your therapist to use this in conjunction with Aromatherapy.

Traditional Massage

Traditional massage, or Swedish massage, is the classic or typical western style massage that we all think of. The techniques used are designed to improve your circulation, soothe your muscles and make you more relaxed. Traditional massage uses softer strokes on the bonier and more delicate parts of the body, and stronger strokes where there is thicker muscle coverage. You can choose to concentrate on your back, shoulders and neck, or full body; arms, legs, hands, feet, back, neck and shoulders. Pressure is also adjusted to your preference. Use in conjunction with Aromatherapy or Hot Stones for maximum effect.

Mummy and Baby Massage

Mummy massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and oedema or swelling. Baby massage is a gentle, rhythmic stroking of your baby's body with your hands. We will teach you how. You can use oils or a moisturiser to help your hands to glide smoothly over your baby's skin. You can gently manipulate your baby's ankles, wrists and fingers which stimulates the production of oxytocin in you, your baby and even your partner. Both can be used in conjunction with Aromatherapy for maximum results.
